Overview

What is mcp-server?

mcp-server is an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that helps HR professionals with leave management tasks. It interacts with a mock leave database and responds to queries from an MCP client.

How to use mcp-server?

After installing uv and setting up the project with uv init my-first-mcp-server, add the MCP CLI by running uv add "mcp[cli]". Write the server code in main.py, install the server into Claude Desktop by running uv run mcp install main.py, then kill any running Claude instance and restart Claude Desktop to see the tools.
