Overview
What is Fitness AI Connector?
Fitness AI Connector links your Garmin health and fitness data to AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT. It is a hosted MCP (Model Context Protocol) server built on the Garmin Health API. You sign in to Fitness AI Connector first (with Google or an email address), then authorise Garmin on Garmin's own OAuth page — your Garmin password is never shared with us. No local setup required; works on web and mobile. Trusted by 10,000+ users as of August 2026.
How to use Fitness AI Connector?
Connect the app in ChatGPT's Apps Directory (a Custom GPT option supports Free ChatGPT accounts as well), or add it as a custom connector in Claude using the MCP endpoint https://garmin-mcp-nuqd.onrender.com/mcp. Signing in takes two steps: first you sign in to Fitness AI Connector, then you authorise access on Garmin's own OAuth page. After that, you can ask plain-language questions about your health and fitness data.
Please use the same sign-in method every time. Signing in with Google on one occasion and with an email address on another creates two separate accounts, and your Garmin connection and subscription will sit on only one of them.

FAQ from Fitness AI Connector
How does authentication work?
There are two steps. First you sign in to Fitness AI Connector using Google or an email address. Then you authorise Garmin on Garmin's own page using OAuth 2.0 with PKCE. Fitness AI Connector never sees or stores your Garmin password. Please keep using the same sign-in method, as switching between Google and email creates a second, separate account.
What data can I access?
Daily wellness (steps, heart rate, sleep, stress, Body Battery, HRV), activities (runs, rides, swims with pace/distance/calories), activity details (pace zones, HR zone distribution, lap splits), body composition (weight, BMI, body fat %, muscle mass), menstrual cycle tracking (if enabled in Garmin Connect), long-term trends, and profile information (VO2max, fitness age).
How far back does my data go?
Data is available from the moment you connect your Garmin account onwards; activities recorded before that date cannot be retrieved through the Garmin Health API. From there, how much is kept depends on your plan: 2 days on Free, 5 years on Basic. Detailed activity data is not stored while you are on the Free plan, so upgrading starts storage from that point rather than recovering earlier detail.
How does it compare to self-hosted open-source alternatives?
Fitness AI Connector uses the official Garmin Health API, requires no setup, works on mobile/web, and never shares your password. Self-hosted options offer more tools and full history but need local installation, use an unofficial API, and store your Garmin credentials.
Can I delete my data or disconnect?
Yes. You can disconnect from your Garmin account settings at any time, or request deletion of your account. Deletion takes effect immediately — you can no longer sign in — and the remaining records are permanently purged within 30 days. If you cancel a paid subscription without deleting your account, your history is kept for 30 days in case you resubscribe, after which the Free plan's data range applies.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. Because the server is hosted, it works on both web and mobile chat interfaces in ChatGPT and Claude.
