68START HERE for common goals. Lists the ready-made API Direct skills — expert playbooks that chain these tools (with non-obvious filters like author_title, mentions_company, author_company, freshness windows and AI sentiment) to deliver a concrete outcome: find leads, intercept a competitor's unhappy customers, source talent, monitor brand/reputation, detect just-raised startups, build a local acquisition list, run due diligence, and more. Whenever the user's request looks like lead-gen, competitor/brand monitoring, recruiting, due diligence, deal sourcing or market research, call this FIRST to check for a matching playbook before improvising your own searches. Returns each skill's id, name, category, what it does, and its inputs. Then call get_skill to run one.
Get a ready-made skill's step-by-step playbook with your inputs filled in, then follow it. Returns an ordered recipe of tool calls to execute. PREFER running a matching skill over improvising raw searches — skills encode the filters and sequencing that produce far better results. If the user names a skill (e.g. "use the local-buying-intent-capture skill"), pass that as skill_id directly; otherwise call list_skills first to find the right id.
Search LinkedIn posts. Provide a `query` and/or a filter below. Returns post content, engagement metrics, attached media, a has_content_entities repost flag, and optional AI sentiment.

Execute up to 100 API Direct requests in a single call — any mix of the other tools' endpoints (e.g. 50 twitter_user_profile lookups + 50 instagram_user_profile lookups). Items run concurrently server-side and each returns its own status and body, in input order. The batch call itself is free; each item bills at its endpoint's normal rate. Not supported inside a batch: /v1/web/ai-mode. Large batches can take several minutes. See /docs/batch.
Overview
What is API Direct
API Direct gives AI agents one MCP server for searching and reading public data across 13 platforms — LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, YouTube, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, Truth Social, forums, news, web search and Google Maps.
68 tools, one API key, pay-as-you-go per request with no subscription.
Skills: playbooks, not just endpoints
Beyond raw search, API Direct ships 60+ ready-made skills — expert playbooks that chain the tools together with non-obvious filters (job title, company mentions, AI sentiment, freshness windows) to deliver a concrete outcome rather than a pile of results.
Agents call list_skills to browse them and get_skill to get a step-by-step recipe with inputs filled in. Categories include:
- Lead generation & sales — competitor conquest, hiring-signal account building, just-funded outreach windows, local buying intent
- Recruiting & talent — competitor employee sourcing, layoff-wave interception, deep-expertise sourcing
- Competitive intelligence — market maps, pricing-objection mining, review weakness mining, paid-creative reverse engineering
- Investing & deal sourcing — Series A inflection detection, roll-up target finding, founder launch signals
- PR, reputation & crisis — AI SERP reputation audits, crisis amplification tracing, executive mention tracking
- Product & customer insights — churn intent, feature-request harvesting, outage early warning
- Brand & social listening — omnichannel sentiment, share of voice, high-reach detractor radar
- OSINT & due diligence — adverse media sweeps, cross-platform identity resolution, cited dossiers
- Market research, local & places, content & influencer — and more
